Sheriffs’ Relief Association is saddened to announce that Retired Detective Armando “Ax” Morales passed away in his sleep on April 12, 2024 . He was at home hospice suffering from late stage dementia.

Armando began his career with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in 1965. He worked Patrol and DB at ELA Station and later transferred to Major Crimes, where he retired in 2000.  Armando is a member of Academy Class 108.

Armando is survived by his brother retired Sergeant Rudy Morales, his son, retired Sergeant Armando Morales and his granddaughter Deputy Samantha Morales (IDT), he was also father to his son Benjamin, daughter Charlene, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be private.
