The staff of the Sheriffs’ Relief Association is saddened to announce the passing of retired Deputy Mike J. Velarde. He passed away on March 20, 2015.

Mike joined the Sheriff’s Department on May 16, 1966, and retired from East Los Angeles Station on April 3, 1996.

Mike was a veteran of the United States Army.
