THE STAFF OF THE SHERIFFS’ RELIEF ASSOCIATION IS SADDENED TO ANNOUNCE THE PASSING OF RETIRED CAPTAIN EDWIN F. COFFEEN.  HE PASSED AWAY ON  MARCH 20, 2021, IN HIS PASADENA HOME.

ED JOINED THE SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT ON AUGUST 6, 1956, AND RETIRED FROM ADVANCED TRAINING BUREAU ON MARCH 18, 1988.  ED WAS A MEMBER OF ACADEMY CLASS 60.

ED WAS A VETERAN WHO SERVED IN THE UNITED STATES ARMY DURING THE KOREAN WAR.

ED IS THE FATHER OF RETIRED SERGEANT JOHN ALLEN COFFEEN, LANCASTER STATION.  HE IS THE FATHER-IN-LAW OF RETIRED LIEUTENANT JAMES E. DAVIS, COMMUNICATIONS BUREAU.  HE IS THE BELOVED HUSBAND OF RETIRED COMMANDER’S SECRETARY KAY COFFEEN, ADMINISTRATIVE DIVISION.

LOCAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT TRINITY LUTHERAN EVANGELICAL CHURCH, 997 E. WALNUT ST., PASADENA, CA., 91106, ON SATURDAY, APRIL 24, 2021, AT 11:00 AM.  IN JULY, THERE WILL BE A MEMORIAL SERVICE IN THE COFFEEN NATURE PRESERVE IN SANTA ROSA BEACH, FLORIDA 32459.
