PICO RIVERA BLOOD AND TOY DRIVE

PICO RIVERA SHERIFF’S STATION IS HOSTING A BLOOD AND TOY DRIVE BENEFITING THE CITY OF HOPE BLOOD DONOR CENTER AND DEPARTMENT OF PEDIATRICS.
WHEN: FRIDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2016
TIME: 1300 – 1900 HOURS
LOCATION: PICO RIVERA SHERIFF’S STATION
6631 PASSONS BLVD
PICO RIVERA, CA 90660
DURING THIS TIME OF YEAR, THE CITY OF HOPE BLOOD DONATION DROPS DRAMATICALLY AND IS IN CONSTANT NEED OF DONATIONS. ALL BLOOD DONATIONS ARE USED STRICTLY FOR PATIENTS OF THE CITY OF HOPE AND NOT SOLD. YOU MAY RESERVE A TIME TO DONATE BLOOD BY EMAILING JUSTYN HAYWARD AT JTHAYWAR@LASD.ORG WITH THE TIME YOU WOULD LIKE TO DONATE. BUT IF YOU ARE NOT SURE WHAT TIME WILL WORK BEST FOR YOU, WALK UPS ARE VERY WELCOME.
THERE WILL ALSO BE A COLLECTION AREA FOR THOSE THAT WOULD LIKE TO DONATE TOYS TO BENEFIT DEPARTMENT OF PEDIACTRICS. THESE TOYS ARE USED TO BRIGHTEN UP THE DAY OF A SMALL CHILD OR TEEN BATTLING CANCER OR ANOTHER TYPE OF ILLNESS. IT IS TRULY AMAZING WHAT A SMALL TOY CAN DO TO PUT ON A CHILD’S FACE. THE TOYS ARE USED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR TO BE GIVEN TO KIDS AS THEY COME AND GO FOR THEIR TREATMENTS AND FOR THOSE WHO ARE CURRENTLY ADMITTED AT THE HOSPITAL. CHILDREN’S AGES VARY FROM TODDLERS TO YOUNG ADULTS.
BLOOD DONATIONS MUST MET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: BE AT 16 YEARS OF AGE AND MINIMUM OF 110 POUNDS. HAVE A STATE/GOVERNMENT I.D.. EAT IRON RICH FOODS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT. FEEL WELL THE DAY OF DONATION.
TOY DONATION MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: NEW TOYS ONLY. UNWRAPPED. AND PLEASE NO STUFFED ANIMALS, GIFT CARDS, CLOTHING, ARTS/CRAFTS SUPPLIES, HYGIENIC ITEMS, ELECTONIC TOYS. CITY OF HOPE HAS GIVEN ME A CHRISTMAS WISH LIST I CAN SEND YOU TO UPON REQUEST.
