April 7, 2019 at 8:00 am - April 10, 2019 at 10:00 pm

Norwalk SEB ‘they can’t transfer us all’ contingent

2019 LASD Roundup

The LASD Roundup will be held April 7th through April 10 th, 2019at the Riverside Resort and Casino located at 1650 Casino Drive Laughlin, Nevada 89029.
The cost to attend the Roundup will be $40.00 per person.  The Hospitality Room will be open from 12 Noon till 10:00 PM on Sunday and 8AM till 10:00 PM
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  PLEASE NOTE THAT IN ORDER TO COME INTO THE HOSPITALITY ROOM, YOU HAVE TO HAVE PAID YOUR
ROUNDUP REGISTRATION FEE OF $40.00.   SOME PEOPLE WERE UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT IF THEY DID NOT PARTAKE OF THE FOOD PROVIDED, THEY DID NOT HAVE TO REGISTER AND PAY THE FEE. WE HAVE TO PAY FOR THE USE OF THE ROOM REGARDLESS WHETHER WE HAVE FOOD OR NOT. THE FOOD WAS ADDED FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL THOSE WHO ATTEND. BASICALLY THE FOOD PAYS FOR THE
ROOM. IF WE DID AWAY WITH THE FOOD, WE WOULD STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE USE OF THE ROOM.

Last year retired personnel from West Hollywood Station, Firestone Station, Detective Division, Lennox, Norwalk, Lakewood, Malibu, East LA, Carson, Aero, San Dimas, Antelope Valley Stations, Industry Station, SCV, La Crescenta, Altadena, Temple, SBI, TST and SEB/ESD conducted their own reunion luncheons , dinners
and gatherings.  PPOA sponsored the first ever cigar night  and it was a huge success.  We will also be having a Karaoke/Dance night again . I can tell you that the four days at the Roundup fly by pretty fast. These mini-banquets are a good way to make sure that you get to see and talk to all your old friends and partners. As usual, I will be posting a list of all those groups planning separate gatherings.

Regular rooms are $35 .00 per night. The RV Park is $22.00 a night.  For those of you that have pets and want to bring them, the Riverside has a limited number of
hotel rooms where dogs are allowed and you will have to check with the hotel for details and prices. We have 250 rooms set aside for our event. The RV Park has full hookups which include utilities and Cable TV (sorry no phone). Check in time on Sunday is 4:00 PM and all other days are 2:00 PM. Check out is 11:00 AM. To make your reservations, please call 800-227-3849. Ask for the LASD Roundup. The code for hotel rooms is C/LASD9. The code for the RV Park is LASD19. All those attending the Roundup are responsible for making their own hotel reservations.   I would not wait until the last minute to make your reservations. Remember that the hotel has a cut-off date on room reservations which is 14 days prior to the event. If you fail to make your room reservation by the cut-off date, you will not receive the LASD room discount.  Also, the hotel has a 3 day cancellation policy in place.

*Mail checks to “LASD ROUNDUP REUNION, 1038 N. Hobble Strap Street, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314-1444.   Any questions, call 928-776-0639.  We will not process any checks that do not include a Roundup registration slip.
* We would really appreciate it if you would send your money in ASAP so we know how much food to order for dessert night, Mexican food night and the final night of the Roundup. Your promptness in getting your money in makes our job a lot easier and we greatly appreciate those who send their money in early. There is no deadline to purchase Roundup tickets. However remember that we would truly appreciate it if you got your money into us before April 1, 2019 . Also, if you plan on participating in the slots, bowling and the Texas Hold’em Tournament, we need a head count well ahead of time.  Last year we filled up the slots tournament and poker tournament by March 1st.  There will be no refunds after April 1, 2019 (except for medical issues). Please print out the form and mail that in with your check for the Roundup. We need a registration form even if you are not planning
on staying at the Roundup the entire 4 days. The registration form will also allow you to sign-up for the slots, bowling and Poker tournaments.  The department will once again provide Range Staff personnel for the HR 218 National CCW Qualification Course which will be held on April 8th and 9th (Monday and Tuesday).   If you plan on participating in the HR 218 qualification, please email HR 218 Chairman, Walt Bouman at bsball8@earthlink.net so that we may determine how many will participate. Shooting registration will take place at the Roundup.  Volunteers are also needed to assist in registering for the HR 218 Qualification at the Hospitality Room and also at the Range site on a daily basis to assist in processing the shooters expeditiously. *Also, please make sure to check your retirement CCW
credentials from the Department to insure that they are still valid and have not expired. If your Department credentials have expired, you will not be allowed to qualify.*
