Sergeant Mike Abdeen is a 25 year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. His assignments have included working in Custody Division, Patrol Division, Detective Division and Homeland Security Division. He worked as an Investigator and a Task Force Officer on the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) for several years. Sergeant Abdeen is currently assigned to the Special Operations Division, he is an instructor at the academy for cultural awareness and sensitivity training as well as the Arabic language examiner for Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Sgt. Abdeen is the Chair person for the Interagency Coordination Group (ICG) in Los Angeles, he coordinates all Countering Violent Extremism efforts with local, State and Federal agencies and travels internationally representing LASD.
I am honored to serve as the president of the Sheriff’s Relief Association Board of Trustees. Our association’s membership exceeds 19,500 members and growing. I encourage all department members to join the family of SRA, yes it’s a family that helps each other every day and in many way.
