SRA NEW HQ AND STORE BUILDING PROJECT

Sheriffs' Relief Association is Planning a New Home!

ANNOUNCEMENT:  6/20/2017 – BUILDING STATUS UPDATE

On 6/13/2017 Bill Mcsweeney made a presentation to both the Sheriff and the EPC on our new proposed SRA headquarters and emporium.  They both approved both the location of our new site and the conceptual rendering of the new building.  We are now proceeding with negotiations with the county regarding the acquisition of the property located adjacent to SBI.

ANNOUNCEMENT:  5/2/2017 – BUILDING STATUS UPDATE

At the April 30th meeting the Sheriffs’ Relief Association Board of Trustees voted unanimously to continue steps towards the construction of a new SRA headquarters and Emporium.  Many difficult business issues remain in this effort, but the Board is hopeful each will be favorably resolved.

LASD classroom needs require SRA to vacate their STARS Center offices in the near future.  As a result, SRA must identify a suitable home.  The Department’s offer of the SBI adjacent land appears to fit nearly all SRA’s needs.  The proposed building pad is to the west of the dormant SBI structure.  The location is within 250 feet of SEB and the LASD Training Academy.  This building pad has been cleared of any soil stability or land-fill related safety restrictions.  The proposed SRA property sits to the north of the fill.

The David Senft Architectural firm has submitted a proposed architectural rendering of a 12,000-square foot building with a rooftop events facility for retirements and other related LASD ceremonies.

The architects rendering is attached to this article.  This website will keep members up to date regarding SRA’s step by step efforts to meet the need for a new home for Sheriffs’ Relief….
