SRA Updates

SRA MEMBERS – RETIRING THIS YEAR?

Many current members will be planning to retire sometime in 2017.  As you prepare for your retirement it is important to remember to be sure to renew your membership in the Sheriffs’ Relief Association.  Many members forget to renew and mistakenly think that they are still members when it comes time to apply for a benefit (like your death benefit).    YOU MUST RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP WHEN YOU RETIRE TO REMAIN AN ACTIVE RETIRED MEMBER or else you lose your membership which includes all the benefits you once enjoyed.

Once retired you will receive a letter from SRA much like the one that follows:

Dear Member,
On behalf of the officers and trustees, best wishes are extended to you upon your retirement effective 12-1-16. As a member of the Sheriffs’ Relief Association on retired status, you will retain your mortuary benefit, and your loan privileges, by the payment of $9.00 monthly dues. Tickets to major amusement parks are also available to members at discount prices, the Star News will continue to be mailed to your home.

Please take a moment to complete the form authorizing dues and any loan payments from your retirement check.
Please complete all forms attached and return them in the envelope provided.

Sincerely,
SHERIFFS’ RELIEF ASSOCIATION OF
LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, INC.
WILLIAM J. McSWEENEY

IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE A PERSONALIZED LETTER WITH AN ATTACHED RENEWAL FORM, PLEASE CONTACT BLANCA AT (562) 946-7081.
